Default I lost 2 piggies

Hey everyone,

I'm back from Europe, but I got some sad news when I got home. Apparently while I was away we lost 2 of our 3 guinea pigs. I wasn't surprised that Tie had died, since she had been losing fur and looking unwell for a few months...and she was more than 6 years old. But apparently Reese died a week later, and that one was more of a surprise to me. She was 4 and a half, which isn't young for a guinea pig, but my no means ancient. And she was also the one who had gotten sick last year and had been heroicly revived on the operating table by the vet. She was also the subject of the picture I posted of the guinea pig kissing my two year old cousin last summer. So she was a toughie. But she had problems with her teeth since she was a baby, and even monthly filings eventually got to be too slow to keep up with the teeth.

That leaves us with Dash (who secretly has always been my favourite). She and Tie were sisters, so she is also nearly 6 and a half. But she still looks plump and healthy, and so far seems oblivious to the fact that her sister and friend from the next cage over are gone. She's soaking up the extra human attention and lumbering about. One of my friends told me once that he thought she was too stupid to realize how old she was, so she'd live forever. Maybe 7? Here's hoping.

RIP Tie and Reese.
