Had it been Harrod's I wouldn't have lifted one eyebrow, but Tesco?

He denied a charge of causing criminal damage reckless as to whether life was endangered and this was dropped by the prosecution.
Sounds like exactly what he should be charged with. Interesting. You drive a two ton car into an occupied 'shop' what else should you expect? I could understand if it was closed and he plead he thought the place unoccupied and he just wanted to trash the place, but there were people in there and he knew this...

Caton was intoxicated
This might be the key to the incident.

Seriously ignoring the risk to life that he caused and is egregious, he deliberately ruined his £200,000 car over a dispute about a £200 mattress? (Those monetary figures are by the way my vague guesses.) I don't think even I have ever been that intoxicated.

So, because a mattress was not delivered on time, he is spending almost a month in prison, he has possibly lost his valuable Rolls, will probably get a lengthy driving ban and will get a criminal record (and maybe a prison sentence) if found guilty.

I'm not sure he thought this all the way through.

Sleep deprivation can make you a bit cranky.

An '83 Silver Spirit will only set you back 5 grand or so, 10+ if the mileage is good and she's in something akin to factory condition. Though I daresay he's not gonna be able to pick up the insurance on this one...

First time I've seen the video that was included in the report. Sixteen months would seem to be the minimum that he should receive, especially as six people were injured.

Quote:
The court heard the six women who were injured suffered cuts, bruising and shock and one, who was 20 weeks' pregnant and had already suffered two miscarriages, needed to go to hospital.
I hope the pregnant lady and her baby are all right.
