Redemption rumor: Barb writes, "My neighbor wants to know where to send several large bags of saved-up pull tabs from pop cans to be exchanged for kidney dialysis time. I say that is an old, old hoax and that nobody anywhere ever made such an offer. Personally, I think they are worth their weight in aluminum for recycle, and nothing more."

Barb is right. When we hear a claim like this, we go directly to the Web site Snopes.com, which is an authoritative reference for hoaxes, urban legends, folklore, myths, rumors and misinformation. Snopes says these bits of metal are worth nothing more than their recycling value.
