Goat Repair shop finds goat in car trunk

Auto repairman James Prusci has seen some unusual things left in the cars he works on, but nothing quite like what he found in the trunk of a Chevy Malibu.

What a terrible thing to do. Animal abuse is no less abuse just because it's a goat and not a cute kitten or dog. Not that cuteness matters to some people.

But is this woman being held to a higher standard than professionals who transport goats to slaughterhouses?

No. You can not transport an animal to the slaughter house in the trunk of a car.

Very true. Go to a livestock auction one day with just your car and see what happens when you try to pick up your purchase.

Also, animals transported to slaughterhouses are not painted. You have to wonder whether the paint was toxic or not. I'm guessing at a minimum it wasn't pleasant for the goat.

But are the conditions in which livestock is transported in bulk significantly better than the trunk of a car?

Goat

At least it seems to have a happy ending for the goat.

The trunk of a car is a sealed environment. The goat was in distress from lack of air and heat and it's feet were tied so it couldn't even move around! No, the transports aren't good and a lot of us are pushing for more humane methods, but using that as an excuse just doesn't cut it. Companies can be cited, so should she.

She was planning on taking it to St. Paul? That's a couple hours trip from Winona! With the exhaust fumes and stress and heat, it undoubtably would have been dead by the time they got there.

Goats are cute. Just as cute as any dog or cat in my book. I used to drive my two around in the back of my hatchback Escort? Chevette? Don't remember which. I surely would never have locked them in a trunk. I used to get some funny looks when they'd peer through the windows at the cars at the traffic light; they liked going for a ride, and would run to the car and baaa at me until I opened it so they could get in.

I'm glad this poor thing is going be cared for better.
