Sting's Tantric sex rep a gag started by friend Bob Geldof

If you've ever envied Sting's sex life, you can stop right now. According to the singer's daughter, her dad knows squat about Tantric sex!

Coco Sumner says her father's legendary prowess — which was said to include eight-hour marathon sessions with his wife, Trudie Styler — was actually a tongue-in-cheek story fabricated by his pal, rocker-activist Bob Geldof.

"Bob Geldof made up this thing and it stuck — and it's an international joke!" the 18-year-old actress moans in the new issue of the U.K.'s Love magazine, out Monday. She adds that the fictitious story has haunted her for her entire young life.

Says Coco: "It's embarrassing when people bring it up. I don't really have anything to do with my parents' sex life. They love each other. So what?"

So how exactly does Coco know that it's fictitious? Unless her dad sat down with her and said, "Coco, you may have heard that I've got this rep for Tantric sex, but it's all a big joke," then she's really no more an authority on the story's authenticity than anyone else. She even admits that she doesn't "have anything to do" with Sting and Trudie's sex life--and, honestly, what child wants to know anything about their parents' sex lives--yet she seems self-assured enough to say the story's a joke.
I'd also be surprised that anyone would bring the matter up to her. Why would you (g) ask a person about his/her parents' sex life? What POSSIBLE reason would there be for such questioning? The only thing I could imagine would be some guy wanting to find out if Coco's learned anything about the method which I would guess would be a quick way for Coco to find out which guys to avoid.
Until Sting 'fesses up one way or the other, the only people who will really know the truth will be Sting and Trudie. For everyone else, including Coco Sumner, it's all speculation.

I'd say that it would count as more than speculation if her parents straight out told her that it was all a joke. There's plenty of ways that the topic could have come up. Perhaps she told them that she was sick of kids at school asking her about her folks sex life and they told her that it was all made up anyway. Perhaps when her Mom gave her the sex talk she asked "can you really do it for 8 hours" and Mom told her that as far as she knows you can't. Perhaps they just think it's funny that so many people believe it and told their daughter "you wouldn't believe what we've convinced the media of."

Sting's 'fessed up. He admits that he told this to Bob Geldor, and also admits that he was lying to the guy, now saying that the "eight hours" included "four hours of begging, then a movie and then dinner," and that "I have frantic sex, which is just as good as tantric sex."
