Icon81 Deadly seattle rave?

Last night at a party someone told me about a rave that took place in the Seattle area where several hundred ravers died after the police got involved and started shooting teargas into the building, and then a fire started somehow.

He told me this story had made the local news but not the national news. It would have been within the past 8 years. He originally said 500 kids died, but then said it might have been less than that.

Does anybody have more details on this story?

I think I would have remembered something like that if it actually had happened. Also, when there are "several hundred" deaths in any one incident, it wouldn't just be national news; it would hit the international press as well.

There was a rave in Seattle where 7 people were shot, but not by the police. I think I would have remembered hundreds of people dying in a fire if it had happened in a neighbouring city, and I have no recolletion of that. Maybe he is confusing an episode of CSI Miami with the actual event.

This is the LINK for the rave where the shooting took place.

If anywhere near 500 kids had died, it would have made the national news.

The best I can find is a few articles about one man (not police) shooting seven people dead (including himself) at a small rave/party (depending on the article), but nothing like what is being described:http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/htm...hooting25.html

It sounded too strange to be true, but I thought I'd check.

sounds to me like someone's memory is combining the 7 person killed at rave news story with Waco.

Or the Station Club Fire in R.I. a few years back (100 dead at Great White concert).
