Comment: There's a story about orcas that we've heard on two different
Alaska cruises. Shortening it up as much as I can, this how it goes. At a marine park (don't remember if they ever said where), the orca handlers noticed the orcas practicing a new behavior that the handlers had never seen. The orcas were swimming around the tank fast, in formation. When they reached a pretty good speed, one of them would launch itself up into the air, flip over and land on its back, on top of the back of another orca. The handlers couldn't figure it out. Then one day, when they were doing the orca show, and one of the handlers was riding around on one of the orca's backs, the orcas went into this routine. One of them flew up in the air and crashed down on top of the whale carrying the guy on its back, totally squishing the guy. The cruiseline naturists that tell the story say that it's a case of premeditated murder, since orcas are smart enough to plan this out. Have you ever heard of this one? I've been curious about it for years, but never got around to sending it to you. |
