The intrepid sequel to
here, which automagically entered lockdown after a good run of 59 pages.
I'm halfway through Steven Pressfield's
Killing Rommel, about the Long-Range Desert Group's attempt to solve the problem of the Afrika Korps by taking Rommel out of the equation.
I've also recently started Brent Weeks'
The Way of Shadows. So far, I like it. It's certainly grim, in the vein of GRR Martin. I can see a similar potential for body count pile-ups, although I think it may ultimately rate a 4 on the 1-10 Red Wedding scale. The SFFWorld
review gives a good overview of the book, although I wouldn't compare Durzo Blint to Robin Hobbs' Chade or Scott Lynch's Chains. Chade and Chains were, at heart, benevolent and neither went into ultra violent psycho rages, something Blint has already done and seems to be on the verge of doing again.

Funny you should mention that, since I just finished up
Wyrd Sisters. I went on a Pratchett rampage and blazed through books 4-6 back-to-back-to-back. I'll rest up a bit before starting on
Pyramids, which is a re-read, and then on to
Guards, Guards! as I reach my favoritest sub-series, The Watch. That will also be a re-read, plus the plot is also the plot of the Discworld graphic adventure game, so my memory retention is probably going to be pretty good (well, except the game was Rincewind-centric; I don't seem to recall Vimes showing up and Carrot was a bit part standing guard at one of the gates, IIRC).
