Icon202 Kingdom of Loathing Snopes clan

This is a continuation of the previous Kingdom of Loathing thread, which ran to 60 pages. Kingdom of Loathing is a free browser based parody MMORPG with very simplistic stick figure graphics and amusing text descriptions. What seems very simple at first glance is actually a deep and complex game with a great deal to discover and a large and interesting community.

Over 20 snopes forum posters are actively playing the game together in a clan, called "clan snopes", naturally. Many other snopesters have played at one point or another or are playing in other clans. If you decide to try the game out, look clan snopes up and you're welcome to join. There are perks. If you apply, please post a message here in this thread so that we know who you are. Friends are allowed to join as long as a snopester vouches for them.

If you get a bit overwhelmed when you're starting out, this thread is full of people who can help, so don't hesitate to ask. The KoL wiki is also an excellent resource for more information.

I have another addiction now (well, I finally got over the goofballs anyway).

Anyway, applied for clan snopes - using citizen James over there (somehow saint James was taken - citizen James was my original login anyway (until I changed ISP's and lost my old password).

*bows head*

In other news: I'll be away from the Kingdom until next Monday and won't show up here, either. If you manage to finish Hobopolis until then, you might have to wait for me making my picks from among the loot until then.

In even other news: Hey, folks, I could use some help taking down spooky hobos! Don't let me do all the work on my own! Plus, I ran out of adventures (and I'm full and drunk).

Don Enrico

I'd help you out there, Don Erico, but I'm currently on a mission to get my fully upgraded (or at least mostly upgraded, since I misremembered by 200 nickels) hobo tattoo! See you in the graveyard after that!

It's okay - Lyra "Belacqua" Silvertongue did some of the work, and I managed to take down Zombo today.

It's only the town square and the overlord left, now.

Don "Soeren" Enrico

...lacking only a link to the previous thread, which does contain useful information. However, it may at some point be deleted or moved to some archive location.

Default Hobo Tattoo obtained!

I have fought my way to a staggering 3800 Hobo nickels and obtained a fully upgraded Hobo Tattoo! You may see it in all its glory on my character page. (I think, anyway. I can't figure out how to actually see my own tattoo except by going to my account options. )

I'm going to dodge Hodgman this time around when he comes up and let someone else get him, since I've got him two or three times in a row now. Enjoy your fight, people!

I probably won't show up either here or in KoL until next Tuesday. In order not to hold up loot distribution, I'll give you my first two picks right now, just in case anyone takes down Hodgman over the weekend.

My picks (from the loot so far):

1. Frosty's carrot
2. Chester's moustache

If I get more than two picks, I'll take any Hodgman gear that is left when it's my turn again. Otherwise, just hand me anything I can smash into a wad.

Don Enrico

Congratulations on your first Hodgman kill, Corwin.

1. Hodgman's cane, you are MINE!
2. Oscus's garbage can lid
3. Frosty's arm

All others I possess, and may be smashed or traded.

What, no rollover points? (I kid, I have total faith in your fairness, Errata!)

Well, to be fair, it's only my first Hodgman with this character, since he or she is usually in a hardcore ascension. My other guy has managed a couple of kills.

Anyway, my picks are:

1. Hodgman pants
2. Frosty's Arm
3. Chester's muscle shirt

I have everything except Hodgman's Cane, Frosty's Arm (I turned my other one into a Staff of the Deepest Freeze), and Frosty's Iceball. If one of those items is available for my pick I will take it, otherwise a wad is fine.

Picks:
Subacai (15568): Hodgman's cane, Oscus's garbage can lid, Frosty's arm, 1st pick, +2000 points next run
Soeren (6954): Frosty's carrot, Chester's moustache, 2nd pick
StansTheMan (5134): Ol' Scratch's ol' britches, Chester's muscle shirt
firstboyonthemoon (2914): Hodgman's lobsterskin pants, +300 points next run
Lyra Belacqua (2174): Frosty's iceball

Loot:
Zombo's shield
Oscus's pelt

Ok, we're down to two things that Subacai and Soeren didn't want. Does anyone want to pay them an ultimate wad to buy this stuff from them before we smash it? Does anyone eligible for loot distribution have pulverize and volunteer to do the smashing?

Fair point, actually. I was having trouble balancing it, and didn't think about that.

Once again, it's an epic wad, not an ultimate wad. Obviously there is a big difference there.

I can smash if needed, and do not want to buy loot.

What's up with "A Greasy Spot" in the Clan Basement?

I'm not cleaning it up!

So far I'm not loving the slime tube, but that may change. However, I recommend anyone interested in trying it consider getting a key to the VIP lounge (today). Just sayin'.

Since the slime tube seems to be more linear with fewer choices about how to spend your turns, I propose that instead of a point system we just use turn counts alone when it comes to loot allocation. If we learn something new about how it works that would merit another system we can always change it.
