Default Show off your tattoos!

Since the old thread was purged...

I got mine today. I was worried it was going to hurt badly, but it really didn't. It stung and it wasn't exactly pleasant, but it was definitely worth it. The artist was a really sweet, soft-spoken youngish guy and we had a pretty nice conversation while he was inking me.

It turns out that it's hard to take pictures of something on my own chest! Who knew? (Oh, and that's a tank top, not a bra, lest anyone think I'm being overly exhibitionist.)

Gorgeous. It looks beautiful against your skin tone and freckles.

Thanks!

This morning I learned that fresh tattoos ooze plasma and excess ink while their human canvas is asleep. It's a little disconcerting to wake up glued to my shirt!

Ouch--that would give anyone an excuse to sleep naked I'm really digging the colors--it looks great on your skin tone.

Sleeping naked doesn't help - a few years ago I got a tattoo on my upper arm and woke up to find prints of it all over the sheet...

Oh, and it's a gorgeous tattoo.

Ah yes, that's always lovely! My artist has started recommending people use Bepanthen, which is a nappy care ointment, on new tattoos and I didn't oozed as badly with the tiger using that. Of course, I haven't had the colour put in yet so we'll see whether it makes much difference then.

I use bacitracen ointment, it really helped..

When i was in Malasia a few years back, i got a tattoo on my back, and when i woke up the next morning, it was imprinted on the hotel sheets..

the cleaning lady wasn't happy, and i ended up with an $80 US bill for it.. but oh well

My brother got his first tattoo at 17 IIRC (so maybe 8 years ago) and his tattoo artist has always recommended bepanthen. I think even way back when (not sure how long ago) Mum had the same recommended for her first (and so far only, though she has plans for a second, a yin and yang with mine and my brothers name, very fitting as we are opposites) tattoo.
