Comment: This is not really new to me; I heard this a long time ago. The claim was
that a minor league baseball game ended 1-0 where the loosing pitcher stroke-out all 27 batters he faced but the last batter reached base on a pass ball and later scored the winning run, after the starting pitcher (the 27-strike-outs guy) was lifted for a reliever. This sounds very fictitious to me. Have you heard anything like this? |

Not exactly, but Ron Necciai struck out 27 batters in a nine-inning Class D minor league games in 1952. Earlier in the game he retired one batter by ground-out, but in the 9th inning he struck out 4 batters, after one reached first when the catcher dropped the third strike. He won the game, though, as well as recording a no-hitter.
