On "
Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me" this week, the guest for the "Not My Job" segment was Michael Pollan, author of
The Omnivore's Dilemma. He's a proponent of eating natural foods, and during the interview he recommended that listeners not eat any foods that won't eventually rot. As an example of such a food he mentioned the Twinkie, and brought out the myth that they
have an indefinite shelf life. He claimed to have had a Twinkie in his office for two years, and it looks exactly the same as when it was purchaced.
