Chef Twinkies Last Forever on NPR's "Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me"

On "Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me" this week, the guest for the "Not My Job" segment was Michael Pollan, author of The Omnivore's Dilemma. He's a proponent of eating natural foods, and during the interview he recommended that listeners not eat any foods that won't eventually rot. As an example of such a food he mentioned the Twinkie, and brought out the myth that they have an indefinite shelf life. He claimed to have had a Twinkie in his office for two years, and it looks exactly the same as when it was purchaced.
