Comment: Hi, I am doing a report on the Washington Monument and I wanted
to ask you some questions.

1) What is some interesting history about the monument?

2) Who built the monument?

3) How was it made? (The construction)

I hope you can take some time to answer these questions, I would really
appreciate it.

Glad to help.

1) It is the largest free standing strucure in the world and can be seen from the planet Neptune. During the American Revolution the structure was used as a gallows to hang witches helping the British Army. After 9/11 the structure was moved to a secret location somewhere in the Rocky Mountains and replaced with a holographic image.

2) The monument was built by specially trained monkeys overseen by members of the secret Stonecutter Society.

3) The aforementioned monkeys constructed the tower using 12 sugar cubes and the transmission from a 1978 Ford Fairmont. A specially designed crane, built by prisoners at Alcatraz was used to affix the Smiley Face that once adorned the structure (the face was removed during the cold war as critics claimed it emboldened "those godless communists").

Comment: Hi there,

I'm a design graduate.

My name is CCCCCC and I am doing a project for an exhibition on the subject
of chain mail. I have been researching websites for the most accurate
information on the origins of chain mail, its relevance in society, and
the different categories that chain mail fall under. A friend of mine
recommended I view snopes.com, thats how I ended up here. I am looking for
accurate and relevant writing to accompany my illustrations.

I was wondering if anyone from your site here would be able to provide me
with some accredited info, or perhaps even submit their own writing on the
subject.

I would be much obliged for some help.
You can catch me on this email address. Thanks for listening.

mentioned on a civil war documentary but I forget the name of it. Is it
true?

No, you never knew the name of the civil war documentary as you were drinking while watching it and thought you were watching the annual Army/Navy football game.

Please let me know which school you attend and your instructor's name. I am pretty sure s/he takes a dim view on plagerism.

Comment: To whom it may concern,

My name is Molly XXXXXX and I am a student in the advanced Literary
course at my school. We are currently working on research papers
concerning either the Jim Crow laws or Urban Legends; each student using a
different angle. The angle I have taken is do urban legends have a
positive effect on society? As well as sub-content such as differentiating
between urban legends and myth, which audience is most effected by urban
legends and how urban legends change to suit the time period.
Any information or opinions you could provide me would be very much
appreciated.

There really are some sites which give some of that information.

http://www.app.com/section/DATA/DataUniverse

is a good start.

Comment: I am doing a school project called, 'Independent Study.' You must
pick a topic a research it thoroughly and you also need a book source, web
source, and mentor source, a person or many people who can supply you with
information. I selected Urban Legends as a topic. Your site has already
helped me with web greatly, I think this is a great place, and now I ask
that you send me information to my e-mail. It can be anything that even
has remotely to do with Urban Legends at all. I would greatly appreciate
anything you can send me. Thanks.

Comment: I have a question out of the ordinary. I am doing a paper on WWII and what
I need to know is: Did Adolph Hitler have a sister or a relative who was a
nun? I know it sounds phoney but it also makes me sick even thinking about
it. Could you please help me out as I have exhausted all of my sources and
cannot find anything about this.

Comment: I need verification on a statistic I've recently heard that over
90% of prison inmates grew up in a fatherless home. True or False?
