Their definition of substantiated appears to be that the 'fact' has been published, and it seems that most of those quoted above were originally used in comparisons. I have no doubt that what they have posted were published by the sources listed in the appropriate edition, but many (most of them not quoted in the OP) are apparently pure guesses, some however are apparently accurate figures from published sources (mainly medical; for examples the chances of you dying from a specific cause)

Every fact on the web site has been gleaned from the source noted - every fact is true as reported by the source. I have not included the actual links to the various sources as the actual source web page may be moved. Also, many facts come from websites that require a subscription, so unless you are a subscriber or member of that site, you would not be able to see the source article without logging on.

To corroborate the fact, I suggest using key words from the article in a search engine; you should always get at least a source or two.

The example of a 1 in 4 chance of seeing an 'x-rated' movie stands out to me. It could not possibly be true: there has not been the 'x' rating in well over a decade (ETA: according to Wikipedia, since 1990). I think the last movie to actually get an X rating was Last Tango in Paris, which is only interesting to those who reflect too long on Jaba the Hutt's interest in Princess Leia.

Because some of the websites may require registration or be out of date, everyone who wants to find the source has to google it themselves for each and every fact? That's not much of an excuse for a lack of links.

I think you are confusing two concepts here. Yes, there was once an official X rating, but it wasn't really applied to, and does not reflect, what most people mean when they use the words "x-rated". I certainly would not include "Last Tango in Paris" in my definition of x-rated movies.
