Spit Take Tiger Woods' new yacht

Comment: Is this a hoax?

Not many people know that Tiger Woods owns a yacht.

Ever since the golfer Greg Norman got his big yacht, people around the world have marvelled at how big it is.

Well, Tiger Woods earned a lot more money playing golf than Greg Norman, and he invested it in all the right places so he too could have a yacht.

Recently, Tiger withdrew some of his money and bought a yacht. He had it decked out to his specifications, with all the things he wanted on a yacht.

He secretly did all of this until the yacht was ready to set sail.

A photographer on assignment to photograph sea turtles in the ocean happened upon the yacht during its initial shakedown cruise, and got the very first photo of Tiger Woods' yacht.

This is Tiger's new yacht.

There's loads of things that point it out as obviously fake - Tiger himself, the alignment of the word "Tiger" on the bow, the entire edge of the golf course, the shadows of the ship and the objects on the course not matching, the fact that there's a helicopter pad that isn't flat - and so on. Can't believe it'd fool anyone for a second.

No that's my yacht. I just timeshare it with 6,499 others.

In the spirit of thoroughness despite the obvious fake nature of the pic, Tiger's real yacht is a 155 foot long, 6,500 square foot yacht named Privacy

Quote:
[The yacht] has a master suite and six staterooms. It is decorated in dark cherry wood and beige marble, with leather-upholstered furniture, white carpeting and walls covered in white silk. It has a theater projection system, a gym and an eight-person Jacuzzi. It can sleep 21.

Of all the things that might clue one in, the one that I noticed is how smoothly the grass is cut at the edges.

And then there's the fact that it's an aircraft carrier...

And the fact that Tiger is well overscale for the picture!

Made me laugh anyway!

Someone needs to Tiger-proof that golf hole. Not even one bunker! Although, the water hazard is one of the biggest I've ever seen.

What's with the "H" in the grass? I would have thought the 'shopper would have made it a "T" or edited it out. Or does it have something to do with Woods?

It's most likely intended to represent a Helipad.

http://www.answers.com/topic/helipad

"Helipads are usually constructed out of concrete and are marked with a circle and/or a letter "H", so as to be visible from the air."

Its a Helli-Port. Makes it real obvious that its an aircraft carrier.

It reminds me of The Loneliness of the Long Distance Golfer. Although Marty Feldman only got as far as playing off a train rather than an aircraft carrier.

Not that I should criticize other's work, since I'm about as realistic with Photoshop as I am with a Magna-Doodle, but that's just not done very well (even the Tigerless version). It would have been a lot more realistic if they just put a single fairway down the length of the ship. Having fairways go off the edge (particularly the fragments of one at the lower left) makes no sense. It's obviously just any old golf course photo overlaid onto a a photo of a ship, without much though put into it...

Why is the reality of this photo even open to debate? There have been many valid reasons brought up here as to why it is fake, but I would think to anyone with an IQ greater than that of a baboon it screams Joke.

yup, even I, chronic believer of fake photographs (wow, giant squirrels! lol) can see that it's a joke.

Because it came in an e-mail. From somebody's cousin. And he's not the kind of person who would lie.

After reading the IP and staring in shock at the photo, I wanted to look at the guy who wrote the Comment and say, "Um....yes. Yes, that is real. What do you think - too ostentatious?"

Meanwhile, I'm thinking, "Does this guy USE the Internet?" (/Chandler Bing voice)

I've known people who have swallowed the punchline of every joke whole. I always worry about them a little bit.

Love, Who?
