Wake up, America, and see that the DNC is a criminal organization and should be tried under the RICO statutes. It is the epitome of an ongoing criminal enterprise, with Obama leading the way.

I was thinking of this thread just today! We had a letter today (the second one on the page) that seemed to claim that we are becoming a secular nation because of the war on terror:

The assertion that the international campaign of political leaders against Muslim terror is a battle between two opposing forms of religious fundamentalism is patently false. What should disturb us is the fact that we as a nation have allowed activist judges and politicians to separate us from the Christian heritage that once made us the envy of the world.

Huh? When was the world ever envious of America's Christian heritage? Your money, influence and defence capabilities maybe. That claim annoys me as much as when people try to claim Australia has a "Christian heritage", despite actually having quite a secular history post-White settlement/invasion.

We had a doozy of a letter today:

Now, Mayor Carty Finkbeiner wants to tag team with U.S. Rep. Henry Waxman (D., Calif.) to use the Fairness Doctrine to limit our access to the facts. The name Fairness Doctrine, like Patriot Act, is simply perfume on the pig.

This is not the first assault on our access to truth. In the late 1800s, we allowed government to get into the indoctrination business, using distortion and omission in its agenda. In 1917, President Woodrow Wilson set up his propaganda machine, the Committee on Public Information.

Even though we've never had an unprovoked attack on this country, we've been in constant wars for a century under the guise of "fighting for our freedom." Why? Through indoctrination and inaccessibility to truth, we've morphed from children watching Planeteer cartoons to radical environmentalists to eco-facists. Why? The attacks on our last bastion of freedom - the Internet - have been many. We've seen the Clipper Chip [encryption technology] and the numerous attempts to tax information fail only because the chip would have prevented computer sales to foreign markets and the tax would have taxed online tax returns.

Americans, and especially Toledoans, need to ask this question: Why did our Founding Fathers put the amendment that confirmed our pre-existing right to information and speech first? When you get your mind around that you will understand why Mayor Finkbeiner, Mr. Waxman, the Fairness Doctrine, or anyone who embraces this assault on our access to information must go. Your existence may depend on it.

I know! I was even more amused that the letter-writer seemed to think that we separate Church from State because of the "War on Terror," not the first amendment. Very strange.

I'm just wondering. I know when they passed the Patriot Act after 9/11, the FBI (CIA and NSA, too?) could scan the cell phone conversations of all citizens, not just suspected terrorists. I guess that's for the good of our country, though. I wonder if these boxes in our homes can scan our conversations? I never hear anyone questioning it. Is it just me?

Talk of global warming nothing but a hoax

After reading the articles on climate change in Montana, I have the following suggestions. The articles don't really address the problem as far as they should. The following suggestions are, I believe, much better solutions:

1. Since our homes and schools are such terrible polluters, let's put them all underground or, better yet, since Billings has access to the Rims, why not dig into the Rims for our homes and schools. Just think of all the advantages, less heating and cooling bills.

2. Condemn all homes built before 2000 and make it mandatory they be replaced with underground construction.

3. With forests, farms and ranches contributing to 25 percent of the greenhouse gas emissions, do away with all mechanical farming. Go back to horse and mule power and save millions of gallons of fossil fuel.

4. Vastly cut down the use of power that uses coal, natural gas or electricity by using wind generators that supply each home individually.

The above suggestions are just the tip of the iceberg on ways to save the planet. This can be done. I know, for I lived much of it in the 1930s.

Personally, I think that this man-made "climate change," or "global warming" as it used to be called, is a huge hoax. I recall that in the 1970s we were all warned about the ice age coming back. Climates change all the time, and there isn't one thing we can do about it. Remember, Montana used to be a tropical country with palm and fig trees.

'Fraid so.

. Paleontologists have found fossils of palm trees and magnolia shrubs in Makoshika’s soil. Succeeding ice ages erased most of that plant life, as well as the once-prolific dinosaurs.

I was trying to get an estimated time frame for that, but I am not having much luck.

America is slowly sliding off into an abyss of immorality, which is leading to the disintegration of a God-fearing nation. It's becoming evident that the direction of this great nation, built on Judeo-Christian values, has turned from those foundational truths and lost its way. Is anyone paying attention? This economic crisis is a symptom of the cancer that has infected the core of our nation - pride. As our country grew prosperous and powerful, we became prideful and arrogant, believing we no longer needed God's wisdom to govern and direct our nation. Therefore, we locked the door on God, banning Him from schools, government, and the marketplace.

A lesson can be learned from what has happened throughout much of Europe as people buried their Christian heritage in favor of secular societies. Setting a course apart from God, they are now paying a steep price for their spiritual abstinence, having become morally bankrupt. When a nation dies spiritually, its morals decay.

Oh foolish Americans, don't you realize that it was God who blessed this country from its inception? Our founding fathers structured our government based on Judeo-Christian values and principles because they knew that was the only way a democratic republic could endure. America, claim your inheritance. Humbly seek God's forgiveness and return to the values and principles that made this country great; only then will God heal our land. May God bless America.

Mitt Romney advanced such similar BS in his concession speech. Probably other politicians too, I just happened to watch his. So can someone tell me how morally bankrupt atheistic evil Europe has paid a steep price for burying its Christian heritage?

I'd hazard a guess that this is the wrong place to ask! I honestly can't see what they can be getting at. Europe is peaceful, prosperous and free. God is punishing us how? By fulfiling our expectations?

Wait, our "Christian Heritage" is what made us "the envy of the world"??! When did that happen? Doesn't most of Europe have an even longer "Christian Heritage"??? Why would they envy something they have more of????

Yep, never had a single economic crisis before. Never ever ever. Especially not at any points when the country was caught up in religious revival, like during the Second Great Awakening.
