Default Tom & Jerry: Zionist Plot

This video over at YouTube purports to be a lecture by an Iranian scholar, explaining how the cartoon "Tom & Jerry" was created to improve European perceptions of Jews.

(The logic, in brief: Under the Nazis, Jews were referred to as "dirty mice." In the cartoon, Jerry is portrayed as intelligent and cute, and the audience sympathizes with him -- even as he tortures and abuses the cat. Therefore it's supposed to make you like Jews, even though they are doing terrible things to you by manipulating your economy. Uh....right.)

Obviously I don't give much credence to this theory (and the scholar commits the obvious factual error of saying that Tom & Jerry was created by Walt Disney -- which is particularly amusing in light of the allegations that Disney was himself anti-Semitic) -- but what I wonder is if the video and the subtitles are authentic, or if someone just made up the translation to make the guy look like an idiot.

The video can indeed be found at MEMRI TV.

Excerpts from a lecture by Professor Hasan Bolkhari.

Edited to fix link.

So basically you're admitting you hate the Jews?

Actually, I wonder though -- if the guy is going to blame Disney, how about mentioning Mickey Mouse? I mean, talk about glorifying the rodent....

Is this the first step to claiming Jerry is in fact Palestinian, and him fighting back against Tom's repression is entirely justified?

My BIL is Jewish. He always likes Charlie Brown's Christmas. It was his all time favorite growing up. Does that mean that CB's Xmas is also a plot?

Aha. I knew there must have been a reason for Maus. After all, why would a man who did nothing but far out experimental comics suddenly do a straightforward comic with far-reaching appeal and make the characters mice. GAAAASP!

Hmm...No, I would say that Tom is the Palestinian nobly trying to defend his home from the evil usurper that is Jerry.

Everyone sympathizes with Jerry, becomes he seems small and weak, but through is zionist cunning he has overpowered the rightfull owner of the home, and stolen the food litereally off the table.

In truth this is all just silly clap trap akin to people convinced barcodes are the number of the beast.

Although I always did prefer the older cartoons where Tom and Jerry fought as opposed to the later ones when they were friends.

Does that mean I am a papist dupe secretly wishing the tribes of Abraham will battle to oblivion so that my own cabal of satan worshipers can seize the temple mount for our own purposes and rule for a thousand years?

hmm...so many possibilities

What about Tom's other enemy Spike, who spoke like Jimmy Durante? Where does the suicidal duck fit into the picture? This Iranian feller's theory is starting to look slightly less plausible.
