Cliff Richard rumour poo-pooed

It’s hard to believe Sir Cliff Richard was ever serious about appearing in the next series of Celebrity Big Brother.

But the story that he has apparently pulled out because programme makers refused to give him a private toilet won’t do anything to dispel a persistent rumour that has followed him for decades.

Well, I've never heard that one before. Although liking Sir Cliff's music (especially his early work) I haven't really followed his personal life. Even ig he has a colostomy bag what's the problem? Thousands of people have them - including my dad!

I've never watched Big Brother. Do they have cameras in the toilets? If they don't then even if he did appear in the programme no-one would know.

I agree a colostomy bag isn't that big a deal. My mum's friend had one for a couple of years when her Crohn's disease (I think that is what she had) was very, very bad. It didn't curb her life at all, at least no more than she was curbed by her illness in general.

BBAU never showed the toilet, there were cameras in there but when people were in there to do their toilet business, it was never ever shown on TV. If people went in there for a cry or something, then they'd show that.

I always thought the rumour was that he was gay. Most of the women I knew in the UK who found him appealing didn't seem to care about the rumours though.

In Sweden, they didn't show it on TV, except when a guy brought a bed cover, put it over himself and had a wank. They did, however, show it all uncut on the web edition of the show. If I remember correctly, they had live feeds on all the cameras 24/7 on the web.
