Myth: There is a bomber airplane stashed somewhere underneath the Willow Run plant.

Truth: Retiree Steven Puhl, who has researched the plant's history extensively, said this is lore. He said he's searched the facility for such a thing but has found nothing but small odds and ends of airplanes.

Myth: There were thousands of dollars stashed away in lunch pails in the plant by an employee who had survived a World War II concentration camp.

Truth: Puhl said no one had ever found such a thing, and he knew the employee in question.

Myth: All the parts for two World War II .50-caliber machine guns are buried in a hole under the plant.

Truth: Pieces of two decommissioned 20mm autocannons built in 1967, during the Vietnam War era, were found.
