I could have sworn I saw a page on snopes debunking this quote... or at least calling it indeterminate because it was attributed to more than one celeb, but I just stumbled upon this quote attributed to Brooke Shields.
From imdb.com: Quote:

Washington Post, 26 June 1981. Page down to see a scan of the actual article.
Interesting site. When I was in middle school my science teacher had a poster of her in his classroom. It was the one where she had cigarettes in her ears.

Wow. Just wow. But she looked really young, so I'll forgive.

It's so difficult to judge a quote like that when reading it. It could be said seriously, in which case it's a stupid thing to say, but it may also be a failed attempt at a joke, which is common enough, even among comedians. It may also be taken out of context, being a part of one of those silly conversations people sometimes have just for fun.
In other words, true or not, one should not be to quick to judge the intelligence a a person based on such a oneliner. |

I agree Troberg. And even if she was deadly serious when she said it, she was only 16. I shudder to think what I might have said at 16 that could come back to haunt me today!

Actually, what made me write my previous post is that one of my favorite sayings about things that are obviously lethal is "...and that would certainly ruin the rest of the day!". |
