Last weekend, a never-before-seen home movie was made public showing President John F. Kennedy's motorcade just before his assassination.
To assassination researchers, the footage definitively resolves one of the case's enduring controversies: that the bullet wound on Kennedy's back, as documented and photographed during the autopsy, did not match up with the location of the bullet hole on the back of his suit jacket and shirt. http://www.iht.com/articles/2007/02/...n/edposner.php |

It's a good thing the owner of the movie held on to it until the days when conspiracy theorists could say that it was fabricated with comuter graphics.

You lost me when you accused Posner of dishonesty. He might well be wrong, but I see no reason to assume his immorality.

Complete hijack: The end remark in the article appeals to me, not just as a pack rat
The many families who held onto letters/diaries written by loved ones during the American Civil War have allowed historians to really capture more about the effect of that war on its participants than Lee's Lieutenants or other books focusing on the military leaders. From the essay you linked to: "Posner's account is disingenuous, even dishonest."
That was the point where you lost me. Posner may very well be wrong. But I have never seen a hint of his dishonesty, and for this to be your opening criticism of him strikes me as unnecessarily aggressive. Now, yes, surely there are dishonest people. "Scientific Creationists" are at the top of the list. It is difficult to rebut Duane Gish or Kent Hovind without making note of this. But it is possible; one can simply focus on their errors without bringing in their motivations. It is my opinion that you, by impeaching Posner's motivations too early and without sufficient evidential justification, will alienate the audience you most want to hear you. You definitely alienated me. Silas |

I would suggest getting a copy of "Case Open" by Harold Weisburg to see evidence of more of Posner's dishonesty.
