See, I prefer cheapo crackers and my mum insists on getting the 'classier' ones that are always even more predictable (ooh, a hair clip! Oh, another small tape-measure!). In one sense they were the best crackers ever - they weren't the family crackers but ones my friend and I had bought. I think I'd been considering taking them apart to put small presents in, and we started off pulling the spare ones. We ended up laughing so hard we couldn't sit up straight. I think they all had the same joke too.

I've probably still got some of the moustaches. I certainly had a tin of them at one point - those uncomfortable ones that are hard plastic and clip to your nose.

I hope you don't get a decomposed mouse even if it is interesting - but a false moustache is always cheering.

Nobody should complain in Greece about rodent infestation until they find a rat bone in their chicken salad. Which is what a friend was telling me about one day in in 1986 in that Chinese restaurant in Soho that's on three floors. Just after I'd made a joke about Kentucky Fried Rat. Not long after I'd been reading Brunvand. And my mate said he knew about somebody who'd found a rat bone in their chicken salad, and I larft, and he said It's true, and when I asked him a couple of weeks later, he said it hadn't really happened to his friend, but a friend of his friend, and I still larft, and I knew then that I was a snopester even though I didn't know then what a snopester was.

This might be boring to you but it's archaeological dynamite to me.

If it was that coffee extracted from weasel (or civet or whatever i don't recall) poo, then probably not.

ETA if she was dining on frog's legs, and happened to come across a piece of spinach in them, would she have grounds for complaint, and similarly receive a free pack of coffee?
