No child became sick, but the thought of finding mouse remains in cooked green beans at a preschool lunch has officials feeling ill.

I don't know what you've heard, but it wasn't me. I have better taste than that.

at least the school officials told the parents instead of keeping quiet to try & avoid lawsuits & hoping no one would ever find out. Are they sure it was in the green beans & not possibly in the school?

I must've misread the title. I thought something suspected of being a mouse remained in some beans. XD That would be really nasty, but really, it was feces that were found in beans, which isn't any more appetizing, but I've seen it happen. There were mice at my high school's old building and they were definitely peeing and pooing all over, even around the food. Ew! After we moved out to a new building, that one got cleaned up. Thank goodness!

A middle school student's claim of finding a mouse inside a bag of Frito-Lay barbecue potato chips purchased at a school lunch line appears credible, Lewis-Palmer School District 38 officials said.

Figures. A lousy mouse is in the chips, while teachers are as poor as church--well, you know.

So, I guess this is a good indication that Frito-Lay's idea to create healthier chips with more protein is a bust then.

A dead mouse that a student found inside a bag of barbecue potato chips he bought in the lunch line likely chewed its way into the bag after the chips were delivered to the school, a Frito-Lay spokeswoman said.

Where? It just looked like a gross icky blob of stuff that is definitely not green beans to me. Ewwww, I think I'm put off of canned green beans forever. Not that I'd eat canned anyway, fresh is so much better. |

Last week I opened three cans of green beans, to find that they were blackeyed peas. 3 out of 5 cans had the wrong labels. Who knows what else is going on!!!111!

I have to say, that is the smallest mouse I have ever seen (that was not a pinkie). Looking at the bowl of the spoon (the ones I have are just over 1.25" wide), and the size of the beans, very small critter.
And, while it is nasty, since the mouse was "thermally processed" ie-cooked, it should be safe to eat (not that I would want to). In other words, there are no real damages. |
