I fall into those catagories as well, moonfall, and pardon me for speaking for someone else, but I believe surfcitydogdad does as well. Despite what many choose to believe, the church does not dictate how its members are to vote. If that were true, I would likely been excommunicated going all the way back to my first voting experience . . . for Michael Dukakis.

The LDS church was one of the major elements pushing to pass Prop. 8 in California. I think your friend should be appalled at the actions of her religion and leaders, if she supports gay marriage.
