little absurd to me.
This happened to me about 20 years ago with an old Citroën that I had.
I used to put about a half dozen keys on the ring, plus a few metal bits.
It cost me rather a lot to get a new one, not to mention the cost of the tow truck, as the garage wouldn't or couldn't fix it in the Hotel car park where I'd broken down.
The newer switches that cars have these days seem a bit more robust, but I aint going this road again. My brother who works in the motor trade telling me "I told you so" was enough...

I'd have to know what you were talking about (and who you wanted to kill) before I could agree or disagree.

I normally just have a house and car key and one key chain connecting them. Oh and the little door remote thing for my car locks and trunk.

I don't think so. Could it mean he no longer has an account?

Many years ago a colleague of mine bought an old second hand Dormobile. On the first trip the engine kept cutting in and out. Finally stopped called out the RAC could find nothing wrong.Carried on for several miles then problem started again. His passenger spotted the problem.
It was a well worn ignition, he had a large bunch of keys, which swung so much on the bends that they were actually switching the engine on and off.
