Buffalo Snow Storm Pictures
These pictures of Buffalo in the snow are pretty cool.
Someone in Buffalo Division sent this to me who took pictures of Downtown Buffalo... Here are a few Photo's of a Lake Effect storm blowing into downtown Buffalo. I thought they were interesting and I would share them with you. If you are not from Buffalo the first picture shows the HSBC tower on the left of the photo, (the tall building) the Niagara section of the Thruway runs right next to it, milepost N 5.0 or so, and Route 5 (the Skyway) is there also. To the right of the photo the building that looks like a inverted cone is Buffalo City Hall easily visible from the Thruway at Milepost 5.8 or so. If you are from Buffalo you know that we often have Lake Effect storms which cause white out conditions in one area, and in other areas the sun can be out. This often makes it hard for the people in the sunny areas to believe that the reports of limited or no visibility could possibly be true. These photos illustrate how a Lake effect blows in and the kind of conditions its creates in the affected area.

The pics are real - though I can't speak as to the date/time the pics were taken. I've seen the lake effect snow and rain storms on Lake Erie, and the line of "Gee, it's beautiful" and "It's a disaster" is just like shown - just a matter of a hundred feet between the two zones.
Beautiful - if you're on THIS side of it!!

I used to live an hour from Buffalo. And to think, when I said I was moving to Wisconsin, some people actually said "What about all the snow?".
 The snow here has been inconsequential compared to what New York had gotten the last few year.

That white thing looks more like a big cloud or fog than a snow storm.

Not completely out of the realm of possibility that these are real pics.
Here's a video showing a snow squall. Looks similar. Still, something about these pics just don't sit right with me. ETA: Could just be my paranoia again.

Watching these storms roll in from a tall buildingf was awe inspiring. And they were beautiful.
BTW, Buffalo girls were not deterred by snows and 40 mph winds, as far as I recall.

The city depicted is clearly Buffalo, but I'm not so sure about a snow squall. It might be just water. The ground ahead of the squall appears to be green, so I doubt it's cold enough to snow.
On the other hand, it could be last October's surprise storm, which hit before the trees had lost their leaves.
