Aww, I was hopin' Chloe ground Gere's gear past the braking point, but that article was published on October 10th. Hmph! Just for that, I won't believe him.

Weird, isn't it? When I wrote "hamster" instead of "gerbil" in my tombstone tribute, it was a copyright trap; who knew I'd catch Mr. Gere?

He denies it! That must mean that it really, really did happen, and it probably wasn't a hamster, it was a badger! At least!

Face it, when you are a celebrity and a rumour starts spreading, you're pretty much screwed whatever you say.

He ignored it all those years because it wasn't true and he knew it was absurd, but eventually curiosity got the better of him and now he's denying it because of a guilty conscience.

I read another quote, probably from the same interview, in a Swedish paper, where he denied it. If memory serves me right, he called the rumour "ridiculous".
