Texas won Pike's Peak in a football bet

Comment: I have been told and am trying to research that in 1938 or 1939.
W. Lee O'Daniel, the governor of Texas made a bet with the governor of
Colorado on a football game. When Texas won, they gained ownership of
Pike's Peak.
