I was relieved to find the following letter in the PRISM epistle both because it mentions snopes.com and because it seeks to remind us that spreading lies, even if they are lies about the "liberal" forces of this evil world, does not serve Christ well.
"PRISM ePistle" http://esa-online.org/prism/ Dear ePistle, I recently received a report from friends entitled "Billy Graham in New Orleans," which described an alleged visit by the evangelist to that city last May, during which time a spontaneous revival-style parade supposedly erupted on the streets. Several details in the story struck me as peculiar, so I did a little digging and found an article from snopes.com indicating that this demonstration parade is in fact an urban legend and never occurred. When I explained this to the person who first sent it to me, she said that it is fully in line with the principles of Billy Graham and maybe Snopes did not have complete information. I therefore went to the website of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. In none of the extensive information reported about the New Orleans festival in May 2006 could I found anything at all about either a demonstration or a march of the type that is reported. No wonder it had no media publicity, for it apparently never occurred. To share fiction as if it is fact and then to blame the mass media for not reporting it as news is a double form of false witness. I suppose we all get caught up in such errors in these days of free flowing messages that are so easily and quickly distributed, but I also think we all need to be a bit more cautious lest we aid the work of the Great Deceiver. He usually is the most effective when clothed like an angel of light (2 Cor. 11:14-15). Why give his servants added fuel for their campaign against Jesus Christ? David Moberg |

Yep, no sense giving the 'ol pitchfork guy any more ammunition. However, if I'm not mistaken some of the Christian groups that have marched on Washington got little coverage.
