Ambulance Broken penis

There are many correct answers to "what body part, without a bone, can be
broken?"

A PENIS can break.

Luckily, it is rare. During an erection, blood flows into the penis
through erectile tissue called the corpus cavernosa, which becomes rigid
when the blood fills it. If an erect penis is struck very hard, it's
possible to fracture this tissue. If a fracture occurs, a man might hear a
popping or cracking sound, and will most likely experience excruciating
pain and bruising. It's very important to get to an emergency room to be
treated by a urologist as soon as possible if this happens.

Some mild fractures may resolve without surgery, but most urologists
prefer to operate in order to reduce the risk of scar tissue and impotence
that may often result. Because these injuries do not affect the testes,
where sperm is produced and stored, they do not affect fertility, but they
may make it impossible for a man to have intercourse.

When my colleague was in hospital to have kidney stones removed, he heard many interesting tales in the men's urology ward ... including excruciating accounts from patients with that sort of damage (one had apparently struck his erection against a table).

Pardon me, while I take a moment to form this dignified reaction.

AAAAAHHHHHHH!!! AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!! GOD NOOO!!!

AAAAAARRRRGGGGCAN'TUN-SEEIT!!AAAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIGGHHH!!!!

Thank you.

Yeah, I heard a few stories when I was taking my EMT classes. Disturbing stories. But none really top the visual here. Guh.

Would this type of damage show up on a standard x-ray though? The picture just looks like a "bone" was added to the x-ray. The information sounds believeable, not the x-ray.

But the picture is fake, isn't it?

Someone copied a bone into the penis where there is non. The explanation below the picture may be correct, but the picture itself definitly isn't.

Yep. In humans it's all done by hydraulics. Other animals have a baculum.

I can't imagine any guys would fall for that picture unless they somehow have escaped the knowledge for their whole live that their penis does not have a bone in it.

Blow Your Top

A number of years ago, Unca Cecil covered this topic in The Straight Dope. I, being a young corporate employee, was reading this article in the Chicago Reader in my little cubical, trying to stifle laughter when I got to this part:
Quote:
A 31-year-old man was having sexual relations approximately 1-1/2 hours before admission to the hospital. He "missed the introitus [and] hit the perineum [the area behind his partner's genitals]," causing his penis to fracture (my emphasis).

...

Now, far be it from me to add insult to injury, but how could you be so klutzy that you "missed the introitus"? Admittedly the target is small and the visibility isn't the best, but we're talking point-blank range here.

I can easily imagine having vigorous sex, possibly combined with alcohol, and an accidental fallout which may have that effect as one doesn't have time to stop the next stroke.

I've been on the receiving end of such an incident. While it didn't break him it caused both of us one NFBSK of a lot of pain.

Has to be fake. Everyone knows a limp penis has lost it's bone.

Same here. *shudder*

I knew a girl whose boyfriend supposedly had the broken penis thing happen. They were having drunken sex in a smallish car with her on top, and she got too enthusiastic and ended up falling sideways, with his penis partially inside her. I'd never met the guy, as it had happened before I knew her and they broke up soon after (apparently even though he knew it was an accident he couldn't look at her after, poor fella). While I obviously can't know for sure, the level of visible embarassment she displayed while telling me made me believe her.

It's not called a "boner" for nothing.

Been there too, and not even with alcohol involved. It wasn't the perineum though, but above the "introitus". In the heat of passion, you're not always concerned with aim.

I assumed the photo was for impact and to attract attention to the story rather than attempting to be a real baculum (same as I use fake cabbit pics to attract the reader's attention in my debunking article).
