Origin of Orange Juice?
Straight from my history teacher, I'd like to know if this is fact or not!
"Orange juice wasn't always an important part of breakfast," says he, "but a long time ago, one orange crop didn't fare so well. It got old, and so they just mashed it into juice, touting it as 'an important part of your healthy breakfast!' and that's why we have orange juice every morning." Well, that's the jist of it anyway. Weird guy, my history teacher was. So, fact or UL?

It just SCREAMS Urban Legend to me, but that's just a feeling and I don't have any cites.
ETA: And now I look silly. |

Huh. Thanks Embra! Turns out he was right, and I owe J five bucks, but all in the name of truth.
BringTheNoise, if it makes you feel any better, I told several of my friends that it was quite obviously an urban legend. Guess how silly I'll look now!
