Icon05 Woman held captive in alien breeding experiment

In 1981 I read in a UFO believers magazine about a woman named Maria Sanchez who was apparently abducted from her farm near an obscure Arkansas town with the strange name of Magazine. The abduction reportedly took place in the summer of 1977, but four years later the woman had not yet been found.

The account in the UFO magazine said that some paper with English writing was found somewhere in southern Canada--I think in either Ontario or Quebec--and that it was written by a woman named Maria Sanchez. She wrote that a spacecraft landed in the field where she was walking one evening and that alien beings took her on board against her will, stripped her naked, and the leader raped her. They kept her on board so that they could see if creatures from races on other planets could really breed together. (Sort of like Mr. Spock's parents on Star Trek.) The story goes on to say that Maria found some paper on the spacecraft and was keeping an account of her captivity.

Of course, the writers of the articles speculated that the account of the writings might be a hoax. On the other hand, they preferred to believe otherwise.

Was a woman named Maria Sanchez ever missing from a town in Arkansas in 1977? If so, then it is far more likely that she was abducted by men who turned her into a hooker and/or drug dealer!

"...found some paper..." and a pen clearly. Perhaps the aliens accidentally dropped a clipboard they'd been using when checking off their collection list. Or maybe she was able to grab some notepaper from the reception desk in the fertility clinic on the mothership.

And why precisely do these aliens want to breed with rural abductees? Are our farming folk so attractive and fecund that highly advanced races, thousands of light years away, find themselves driven to spend huge quantities of time and energy and materials in order that little Xpkskkyy Jnr has two, instead of three eyes or whatever characteristic they are breeding for?

And how do they know humans are worth breeding with anyway - we've only be transmitting detectable signals with serious information content for a couple of decades. Or were they in the near neighbourhood and saw a clip of Gilligan's Island and thought "Woah, that Maryanne is hot, I need some of that country girl lovin!"?

As I read it Barb disbelieves the story, but to debunk it properley she needs verifiable counters - ie did Maria Sanchez disappear from Magazine, Arkansas (with a population (2000) of 915 that should be notable), and if so was she later found in a non alien-abjucted condition

Oh, I'm not having a go at Barb - just at the story itself. And at the essential wierdness of the idea that aliens would be dead keen on interstellar travel for the purpose of procreation. It is very silly.

Barb doesn't have to prove anything. It's those that tell this story as true that have to come up with the proofs.

Hmmm, that might be a good story if I ever decide to abduct a woman and keep her as a sex slave -- tell her I'm an alien and it's a breeding experiment. At least it might throw off the investigation if she escapes.

For me, the head-scratcher is: they can build a spaceship capable of traversing interstellar distances, but the only way they can figure out if they can interbreed with humans is to actually try to impregnate one? By force yet? They can't just do some chromosome testing, or try something in vitro?. Or, if they have to try it the old-fashioned way, how about asking for volunteers? Or hire a hooker?

Damn alien bastards.

Yeah, if those silly aliens would only get on the internet I'm sure they'd find plenty of humans willing to do all kinds of freaky stuff with them.

Maybe the paper was wrapped around some cigars.

Is it possible that she was drugged which caused her to hallucinate?

Drugged by the aliens you mean?

So now I not only have to worry about getting seized by aliens, who can build an interstellar craft but still use a paper based records system, but I also have to be worried they're going to give me halucinogens?

Damn.

They're probably the same aliens from Doctor Who that still use filing cabinets and computers with reel-to-reel magnetic tape.

And build steel bulkheads in their ships that wobble when the 3rd Doctor brushes past them.

Exactly when in the summer of 1977?

Without an actual date it is hard to say for certain.

If we knew the date it would be possible to check if there were ships in that area. (Arkansas should be pretty easy to keep track of)
I kind of doubt it, though, the nightlife in the big cities tends to be more popular. That said, there's no telling what kind of mischief the deckhands will get up to on their own time.

This story reminds me of all the accounts of cattle mutilations performed by aliens. I always wondered, how many cows do you mutilate before you get bored? I would think one or two, maybe a third to show your alien friends - but that's it. They must be really hard up for entertainment to travel through space to cut up hundreds of cows over decades of time (and kinda pervy, too, considering the attention to private parts and udders).

They are in dire need of some porn and video games, clearly.

No, the aliens' behavior is clearly a result of too much exposure to porn and video games. Won't someone think of the aliens?!?!

So many problems could have been avoided if they just ate more graham crackers.

Wait a minute - a woman in the States is abducted alone. No proof that there's been an abduction, no other witnesses. For some reason, her testimony is found in Canada.

Did the aliens get drunk, not ask for directions, and kick out her secret statements instead of her in another country for some reason? Oh, good one, Gorblatt!

I think that the whole story was a hoax written by the magazine's writers who were hired by the editors.

It is possible that someone by the name of Maria Sanchez disappeared from Magazine, Arkansas. The article contained a black and white photograph with the caption, "detectives interrogate Maria Sanchez's distraught mother after Maria disappeared."

Well, Maria Sanchez of Fort Smith, Arkansas (about an hour away from Magazine) had a daughter May 24th. She named her Amy. You can see it here.

That's the only reference online I can find.

Also:

Maria Sanchez, believer. In Houston, TX.
