I have always checked emails using Snopes.com to see if they were correct
or not. Now that I know Snopes is not correct, who can I turn to?

Oh that bit's so easy though. They don't do it NOW, of course. But everyone remembers seeing it when they were younger.

I'm betting that in another 20 years, people will remember seeing this "20 years ago", too.

While I appreciate the attempt to vindicate the Commander and his wife,
the "unmanipulated photo" does not even match the photo noted in the
description. Look at the background and the fact that neither soldier is
soluting. I have examined the photo at the bit level and it appears to be
authentic. I think they used the wrong hand and someone snapped a photo
before they were informed.
