Bonsai Kitten Man sells 'ghosts in a bottle'

The one thing you don't want to do when you buy a ghost in a bottle is open it, says a Florida man who makes the novelties with the help of "ghost catchers."

That would let the ghost back out, said John Deese, who vows that his team finds the ghosts in "haunted establishments, cars, hotels, maybe even graveyards." The St. Augustine, Fla., man said they then stuff the captured spirits into bottles, which he sells on the Internet.

How cruel! Won't somebody think of the poor ghosts? They have rights too, you know!

Pah! Why is this news? I can get plenty of spirits in bottles in my local Sainsburys.

Does the ghost scratch on the bottle like a Carrionite? (Sp? for all the Whoniversers) Or is it one of these 'could just be condensation' ghosts...

I'd prefer the scratching in a bottle one really... as scary as it may be.

At least they get a whole bottle to themselves - when the angels have a dance party they have to hold it on the head of a pin.

On the other hand when the local environmental control agency gets involved and tells the guy to shut down the containment system... who ya gonna call?

That's because all the bouncers work in hell. Heavenly beings suck at crowd control.

Just leave it in there, but be sure to sell the bottle to someone else for less than you paid.

Meh, it's not even original. A guy tried to sell a ghost in a jar as far back as 2003.

Yesterday, a subcommittee of the 9th Conference on the International Convention on Biological Diversity in Bonn, Germany, asked the treaty members to take measures against the catching and bottling of ghosts, spirits and similar entities. "The uncontrolled use of the spiritual resources by ruthless businessmen poses a relevant danger to the sustainable development of said resources, that may or may not hold the cure to cancer", Dr. Raymond Stantz, spokesman of the committee, was quoted .

A spokesman of the US delegation to the conference rejected the proposal on the grounds that it would "hinder free trade and American entrepreneurship."
