What is the minimum number of people required to pray before god responds favorably?

What if people pray to different gods?

Does a Catholic prayer cancel out a Protestant prayer?

Praying to God to remove the cancer ain't gonna do a damned thing. If you believe in predeterminism, He gave the girl cancer for a reason, and He will take it away if it suits His purpose. If you don't believe in predeterminism, then you think that this little girl's life is more important than the other millions of young children that die every day.

Pray that God gives the family the strength to make it through this time. That is how God shows Himself - not in miracle cures, but in amazing ideas and intenstinal fortitude. If God performed miracles every day, they wouldn't be called "Miracles", they'd be called "Commons".

Apparently raw foods, not prayer, is the answer:

People who actually think that praying to God to have a problem solved strike me as... Very odd.

To me it suggests that God plays favorites, that if person A can illicet enough prayers then then get cured but if they don't then sucks to be them.

When you have people who also believe that "God has a plan" then its even more confounding as that would assume that God has a divine master plan for you but if people pray hard enough he'll change it at the last minute.

Of course, as was said, I think its mostly for people, but some don't act that way.

Some people are confused as to what prayer is about. It's not to beg God to do anything He wasn't already going to do. It is to gain understanding, strength and faith. So, even if the outcome isn't changed for this little girl, many people may be closer to God because of her. And that could have been the plan all along.

So my brother died of cancer to bring me closer to god?

Didn't work.
