Forced to 'lick his worms'

Women fear for their lives as rumours of a Hummer-driving pervert sexually exploiting female pedestrians are spreading like wildfire.

The man is estimated to be in his fifties and he targets women aged anywhere between 18 and 35 years of age. His modus operandi is that he allegedly lures female pedestrians with his expensive vehicle and showers them with expensive gifts before taking them to a luxurious hotel, which he also claims to be the owner of.

At the hotel, the assailant apparently threatens his victims with a firearm and forces them to have oral sex with him. The man is also reported to be wearing disposable nappies.

After the man exposes himself, it is said that a foul smell surfaces from his private parts and his victims are reluctant to do as they are told, because the man allegedly has a pile of worms infesting his pubic area.

It is said that the man pays the women undisclosed amounts of money after the ordeal and tells them that they must use the money for their funerals.

It all just seems far too legend-ish to be true. And all this "apparently" and "it is said". By whom is it said?

To be fair, the police there have bigger problems to worry about at the moment.

The "Vaal Weekly" is a small local community newspaper. Judging by the equivalent paper here (which is put out by the same publisher) the editorial standards are probably not very high.

So there are several women who would get into a car with a stranger, let him buy them presents and take them back to a hotel - all in the space of a day? It must be a short space of time because otherwise there would be more details - a name, number plate etc.

If the smell was that bad, wouldn't they smell it through his clothes? And do the mean maggots, because don't worms live inside you?

And why has no one gone to the police?!

I have a suspicion that the rumour that's going around is actually about female prostitutes, rather than female pedestrians in general. That part of the country is quite Afrikaner and conservative, and that newspaper publisher makes a bit of a fuss about "family values" and publishing "family-friendly" local papers. It wouldn't surprise me if they avoided mentioning prostitutes in an article, even if it confuses the meaning.

As to the first, well, you'd certainly think so; one more reason to suspect it's only a legend. As to the second, it's probably just "worms" in the general sense of "icky wriggling things".

The "prostitute hypothesis" would tend to explain this one as well.

Not sure about my opinion regarding the validity but this is singly one of the most disgusting things I've ever heard. What makes it more disturbing is that I had a dream very similar to this just a few weeks ago. The dream involved a man who dug up the dead body of a woman, had sex with the corpse then kept remnants in his crotch area (it was proved he did it because forensics were done on the contents of his underwear and pubic hair). I had no idea what triggered the dream, I don't remember a lot of my dreams, but the ones I do remember I can usually relate to current events in my life. This particular dream disturbed my sleep for several days mainly because I just couldn't figure out how I had it, so reading this story is having a real surrealist effect on me (I'm also reading an autobiography of Salvador Dali right not, but not when I had the dream). Assuming the story is mostly true, it seems to me this guy may be a necrophiliac of some sort and the worms are symbolic of death. Him telling the prostitute to spend the money on a funeral seems to go along with an obsession with death. I don't know, just know that my skin is crawling right now and it's a good thing I slept well last night.
