Comment: This is in regard to the Pennsylvania town named "King of Prussia"
THE STORY: My wife had a friend of a friend who lived in King of Prussia some time ago. He went out of state for work and took his checkbook with him. While away, he tried to write a check and the clerk told him they wouldn't accept it. Why? Because they accepted checks written in American denominations, not Prussian. And, the clerk added, it didn't matter if it was the king's bank account or not, because they weren't going to accept the check. |

Many places will not accept out of state checks especially smaller places with no ability to verify legitimacy of a check.
I suspect this happens quite a bit especially since there are banks in the King of Prussia area with names like Citizen Bank, Sovereign Bank, and Royal Bank. According to the Royal Bank America website. Quote:

For some reason that bank name annoys me, too many "of"s I think.

I have the same problem with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. My mind always wants to change the second of to an and.
