![]() Just looking at the picture I'd say it's badly photoshoped but it's from an article in the Daily Mail which I thought was a pretty reputable newspaper. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/liv...#StartComments Anyone from the UK know if this is real or not? |

I am so overjoyed that this is not a result of intentional ear cropping. That's the first thing that came to mind when I read the title of the thread.

I have some pics of ear-less sheep in an old encyclopedia of natural history. He look a bit like one of those.

What do you call a dog with no ears?
Anything you like, he won't come

It is illegal to crop a dog's ears in the UK.

I wrote a letter of complaint to the Guardian because their wallposters of dogs (free posters with weekday editions) showed cropped ear dogs and showed the American Kennel club conformation rather than the UK Kennel Club conformation. I was mighty irritated that the Guardian - a british newspaper - produced wallposters showing dogs that had illegal surgery. I have asked them for replacement posters showing dogs tht meet the UK standard and which don't have illegally cropped ears!!

I saw a horse once who'd lost his ears to frostbite. He was a rescue, but they got to him to late to save the ears. They named him Frosty.
