Cell phones can do a lot of things.

You can use them to take pictures, send text messages, send e-mail and even make a phone call.

But can a cell phone open a locked car when you lose your key?

Or unleash extra battery power by simply punching in a number?

An e-mail making the rounds says your cell phone can do these things and more.

A locksmith told me (and a group of friends) that the remote entry would work with cell phones. We all thought that was a great idea. I now get to be the one to inform them otherwise.

Usually when I hear people repeating this I ask if they have personally done this. Every time ther respond that they haven't. After telling them not only why it is false, but that I have personally tested this on more than one type of car and used more than one cell phone, they continue to insist that it is true.

It amazes me how people will beleive their inboxes over real life.

It's the, "Well my friend so and so would never make up something like this." mentality. I get the same thing after explaining to people why this is false and that I've tried it myself. Goes to show you can give some people all the evidence you want but they will still believe a myth.
