Hello Kitty Mountain Lion (near Cadiz, KY)

This animal was hit near Cadiz, Kentucky (close to Kentucky Lake). Lucas and Shannon -- Cadiz is where Ellie and Wes MacCrae live. They sent the pictures. Wes said the story was all over the newspaper.

This lion was hit between HWY 274 and Parkview Shores Dr.. by a car. Game and Fish had to come and put him down. He charged at the Fish and Game guy in the process. Look at his PAWS!.

Bill Shaeffer and Frank Womack helped with the capture

Is it just me or does there seem to be a frighteningly large number of antlers in the room off that garage? (I'm just guessing it's a gagrage, that's what it lookslike to me.) Could this guy be a taxedermist?

Two? Maybe three? Gosh, golly, Pollyanna-art-in-heaven... maybe there are a great many antlers in his garage! You'd have thunk he'd be one of those taxeedeerrmists out in Portland, those evil folk who make art out of road keel, bein' the OP mentions an hit, an' all.

How exactly is it a "capture" when "Game and Fish had to come and put him down"?

You smack a giant cat with your car, immediately call G&F, watch the giant cat flop around, G&F show up, the giant cat tries to bite or attack (which is normal for animals on shock) and G&F put se'enteen bullets 'in 'em.

Maybe it was the picture that was "captured."

WPSD in Paducah declares it false and says that the photo is genuine but is an Arizona Fish and Wildlife officer posing with a big cat that was hit by a car. It's apparently being circulated as being in West Virginia also. The Pittsburgh Post Gazette debunks it as well.

weird coincidence. I'm looking for the original story on this and listening to the radio. AP news just covered a story about a boy being attacked by a mountain lion in Arizona.

ETA:
Here's the Google cache version of the story. It doesn't report the incident but it does report about the hoax that's circulating along with the alleged real story.

Regardless of the story behind I must say I had no ideas pumas could get that big. I thought they were much smaller.
