Comment: According to your report, Congress has NOT voted to do away with
English as our official language. If this is correct, why are so many
companies including Spanish in their ads, literature, etc.? Do they
(companies) forsee what will occur in the future? Do they (companies)
intend to lobby Congress to remove English as our official language?

I do not understand, why, after 200+ years, our country is under seige to
change everything we have lived by and loved. Does not the wisdom of our
forefathers, the many lives lost to defend our way of life mean anything
anymore?

If one wants to live in our land he/she should be here legally, learn to
speak English and abide by our laws. If they aren't willing to do this we
should forbid them entry to begin with; once here they should not be
entitled to citizenship and the many privileges it offers.

Does Magna Carta mean nothing to you? Did she die in vain?

Turn that 200+ to 12,000+ and there are a lot of Native Americans who'd agree with you...

Comment: Could you confirm for me the validity of an email I received
about the Arlington National Cemetaries WW11 Memorial..It says that the
engraving on the monument inspired by the words From Presidents Eisenhower
and Truman and the ending words (SO HELP ME GOD) that President Truman
made on December 7, 1941 announcing the attack on Pearl Harbor were
ommitted...

I think if this is the case it is a travesty of our country..

Did that happen before or after Gen. Theodore Delano Roosevelt was killed by a Serbian assassin at Chancellorsville?

Yes. After WW2 the Germans demanded a rematch saying they'd been robbed of the title. The Canadian participation was welcome with many fine moments during the game. As usual the French were pulled off the pitch early due to fitness issues, and the USA turned up late during the second half of the game to claim the winning goal. This was repeated through WW4 - WW10. Except for WW7 & 8 because the US couldn't make it as they were busy bombing the crap out of some third world country called Vietnam or something.

The season was won by us 5-2 on aggregate.

I don't think it was Balderdash, either. He was in England at the time, and he didn't really have a motive to kill FDR.

Besides, why would a French novelist/playwright want to kill FDR?

Comment: Did Abraham Lincoln pose for the statue on the Lincoln Memorial
holding his hands to form the sign language letters "AL" as a show of
encouragement to the deaf because he had a deaf daughter?

Comment: Re your article Passed Tense, please say what "MP" stands for. I had to do a search for the article you reference to see what MP means.

Please spell out Member of Parliment the first time it appears so other people don't have the same problem.

I can see this one being a problem for someone whose first language isn't English, and who might not have the term MP before.

But otherwise, most people in the English-speaking world should have come across it at some point, yes.

ETA: And there are certainly easier ways of finding out what MP stands for. Nor would the article in question likely name MP Brown. But whatever.

Not by his choice. The artists were required to encase his corpse in a clear plastic resin in the specific pose needed for the statue. After finishing the memorial, they had to ensure that all of the plastic was removed from his body before replacing it in his grave.

This has to be true, since I heard it from a FOAF.

That article is FALSE, for one simple reason. They didn't use stamps at
the time.

Bet you feel pretty foolish now. :-)

I think this one is a joke. Between the smiley and the "troubled soul" signature, I don't want to think of how it could possibly be real.
