Default King Size Rizlas illegal in the US?

Today I was buying some Red Rizla papers at lunch time, unfortunately the clerk handed over the king size ones and I paid and pocked them without realising until I got back to the office. I noticed on the packaging it says "UK Exclusive" and someone said that the King Size Rizla+s were illegal in the US (and various other countries) as they're only use is to make a spliff. I can kinda see the logic in this but I'm not convinced this person isn't just coming up with something that sounds reasonable and reporting it as fact, as some are want to do.

Can any US snopesters (or from any other countries) shed any light on this?

Alternatively, does anyone know anyone who uses King Size Rizla+s simply for rolling tobacco? It strikes me that it would make a very big cigarette (both in length and girth). I've taken to ripping half of it off before I roll.

I don't know the brand name, but rolling papers are not, as I am aware, specifically banned due to size. You can buy a wide variety of pipes, as well, but they are always sold under the "to be used only for tobacco" caveat. Which I am sure is observed 100%.

If those blunt wrappers they sell in gas stations aren't illegal, I can't see any reason king size papers would be.

You can buy bongs here in some specialist shops. They all seem to be marked "for ornamental purposes only".

I can see why they might be classed as parapernalia, maybe it varies state to state?

Few palces that sell you cigarette papers sell rolling tobacco as well so it's pretty obvious what the main market for papers is in the US, and as had been mentioned, there isn't much else you can do with a blunt wrap other than roll a blunt. The honey ones are nice

We have a plethora of small tobacco shops which sell both manufactured cigarettes as well as rolling tobacco and associated paraphenalia.

So do we, but you can also get papers and blunt wrappers in any gas station or convenience store, but not always loose tobacco.

I can tell you it's actually much harder to get smaller rather than larger rolling papers. All of the bodegas I frequent seem to only carry big honking EZ Wider rolling papers which are about twice the size of the Rizla ones. It's very difficult to get smaller sized ones for cigarettes.

Also, loose tobacco is, in my experience, about as available as my preferred brand of cigarette (Djarum special.) The majority of places won't have them, but some 7-11s and the like surprisingly do. YMMV, of course.

In Hawaii it was far harder to find rolling papers than weed to put in them... I bought the marijuana more or less by accident, then it took about an hour of looking to find a shop selling rolling papers. All the small tobacconists in Waikiki seem to be attached to ABC stores, which apparently have a policy against selling papers.

The guy who sold me the stuff's opening ploy was "Excuse me, have you got any rolling papers?" in fact.

My friends and I went into a nature shop last summer and they had a display of hookahs on the back wall. I'm always amused that they say "for flavored tobacco use only"...yeah, right.

Speaking of which, The Sims 2 has a hookah you can buy that blows bubbles. The sims float when they use it.

Well, I'd not intended to buy it, but I popped out of the hotel bar to play pinball, then this guy came up and said "Excuse me, do you have any rolling papers?", and I said "No, or anything to roll in them, alas" just as a random reply, and that turned out to be the code phrase that made him ask if I'd like some, and I thought, why not?

And then once I'd bought it, I realised it was only a couple of hours till I needed to go to the airport for my flight, so I had to rush about trying to find some papers so that I could smoke it all before I got there, and it took ages to get some, and I'd already checked out of my room so had to skulk in a park and feel seedy. And it turned out to have no effect at all anyway - I think it must have been denatured or something - which in retrospect was just as well, because it would probably have been worse trying to get through US security while completely stoned than otherwise.

And it meant I never made it back to the bar, so the nice couple I'd been talking to who'd given me a "St. Patrick's Day Waikiki - Sponsored by Budweiser" banner must have thought I'd just rudely walked off without saying goodbye. I later left the banner in a friend's flat in Vancouver by mistake, which was annoying, as it was a good banner.

From my limited experience with Hookahs, they'd be a great way of enjoying something other than flavoured tobacco, but you'd have to have a pretty steady supply of good keef 'cos otherwise you're gonna burn up a lot of money

I've got a packet of silver king size rizlas here and there's no "UK only" marking on them.

I usually prefer little pipes, I think I waste less that way, but when I am rolling I just buy a cheap cigar, split it and get rid of the tobacco and use the wrapper to roll in.

I have tried the flavored wrapper things, but for some reason they give me a headache.

I don't smoke that much anymore, but will get some every couple of months just because.

Honey sounds very interesting, I'm going to be on the lookout for those. I agree watermelon is pretty bad, though. For some reason I usually buy sizzurp flavor.

When I used to work in a shop people would come in and buy a packet of cigarettes and a packet of king-size rolling papers. I used to give them knowing looks...
