Comment: Any truth to the rumor that the TV show "Laugh-In" correctly
predicted that the Berlin Wall would fall in 1989? |

I actually saw this during a "Laugh-In" clip show aired on NBC about 10-15 years ago. It was during the "News of the Future" and Dan Rowan said(paraphrased):
"In 1989, 20 years from now, people celebrate the fall of the Berlin Wall. However, it's quickly replaced by a moat full of alligators." There was another clip mentioning "President Ronald Reagan," which got a good laugh from the audience. I'll see if I can find a cite. Well, the best I could do was http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laugh-I...ode.27s_format Last edited by smittykins; 21 February 2008 at 12:28 AM. Reason: add link |

Well heck, 20 years after the fact and I'm still laughing at the idea.

John T. Sladek also "predicted" President Ronald Reagan in his 1971 novel "The Mueller-Fokker Effect." He later claimed Reagan as one of his "fictional characters."
