Jolly Roger Pirate recruiting

The Daily Mail runs a section called 'Answers to correspondents', in which readers ask and answer questions on anything. A question in today's paper asks if Sing A Song of Sixpence was a code for recruiting pirates.

Hasn't it been proven that global warming is caused by the decline in the number of pirates?

There's actually been an overall increase in pirate activity in the last few years. So to answer your question : Not likely.
