I don't know if this has been covered before - sure someone will be quick to let me know if it has.
I saw the first two minutes of lamentable comedy Stuck on You last night and before I abandoned the film, I was reminded of the 'ghost' in this film. In the opening scene, when the hilarious conjoined twins are getting out of bed, there appears to be a man's face peeking out from under the bed. Just out of interest, anyone know the story behind this? A crumpled bag that just looks like a face? A photo of a man's face on a box or bag that's been shoved under the bed? A camera man accidentally in shot? The ghost from Three Men and a Baby branching out? Deliberately fabricated by the director? Imdb claims it's the film's executive producer hiding to see if the director would notice, but I wouldn't take that as gospel. Anyone know the story or care to speculate? Sorry, this is the best pic online I could find - it's not terribly good: Stuck on You pic |

The bed appears to have a black bed sheet coming down to the floor, unless that dark fabric is a something else. If it's the bed sheet, I would assume our peeping phantom is light and shadow caused by folds of fabric.

It really wouldn't surprise me if there were a person under there for any number of reasons. I work in the film industry, and many times in my countless days as a production assistant, I found myself having to sit somewhere behind a couch or under a table to do something as simple as hold a "bounce" (lighting tool), to assisting with a practical effect (holding wires, pulling a cord, etc).
I haven't seen the film, but from what I recall from the previews it's a film about conjoined twins. Just to speculate, I would imagine having to get out of a bed attached to another person would be pretty difficult. I could imagine the person may have been under there to hold the blankets down from the other side, slightly tilting the bed to assist them out, or operating a practical effect. She/he'd be facing the camera in order to see a cue from the AD, and if you'll notice, the sheets have been slightly pulled up in the alleged person's line of sight. Of course, this is all speculation, but based on my professional experience it isn't anything overly remarkable short of being an example of a film blooper. It's very difficult to distinguish. Try turning up the brightness/adjusting the contrast on your monitor.
ETA: If you're using an LCD (flatscreen) monitor, try adjusting your viewing angle. |

I can tell you what it's not. It's not a fox with mange, because that joke is *totally* overused.

Absolutely brilliant, I couldn't see it either and I never would have without this advice.

I had to bring it into Photoshop and futz with the levels before I could see it. Pretty eerie looking, but I don't believe in ghosts.

Well, a crowd gathered round and a scientist said it was marsh gas.
- - - The vatican said, woe, the lord has come. - - - And ronnie the popular said it was a communist plot. Some of those must be true. I'm leaning towards the communist plot. |

Thanks for the advice -- there he is.
I'd say that's a crewman that got caught on camera, myself. Lady "no longer blind" Moon |

I lightened it up quite a bit in Photoshop Elements and I've got to admit, it's pretty freaky looking:

Um eww, it is definitely quite freaky looking, but I can't imagine why anyone would think anything other than it would be a crew member. A movie set would be a pretty weird place for a ghost to pop up, imho.

I'm on an LCD and when I move my head to the right I can definitely see it and it's definitely a face. The producer hiding sounds like a likely story, too.

The the film's executive producer hiding to see if the director would notice seems the mostly likely explanation and not at all unbelievable to me. I do wonder why this story didn't get better repetition though, like the Three Men and a Baby "ghost" did. I have never heard of this one, and I try to keep up with the latest "ghost" stories. |

I agree, the light on the floor goes from light the black without a transition. So you are not seeing under the bed, but something black reaching from the bed covers to the floor. Most likely a black bed sheet, since the edge on the floor looks like it would be made by cloth laying there.
