Did Hillary Clinton actually say, "I'm not going to have some reporters pawing through our papers. We are the president." There are only some forum entries on your website at http://msgboard.snopes.com/cgi-bin/u...1;t=000384;p=1 that suggest the original source is James B. Stewart, author of Blood Sport: The President and His Adversaries, but offers no further corroboration. It might be helpful to clear this up, especially since Bill would actually be the 'co-president'! Oh, the irony! |

For what it's worth, Bruce Tindall, posting to AFU in 2004, found that the First Lady's alleged comment appears on p. 368 of Blood Sport. He cautions, however, that "presumably [Stewart's] account is based on accounts of people who were at the meeting with Mrs. Clinton [in December, 1993]." Stewart shares no specific information about sources for Hillary Clinton's supposed pronouncement.
