Icon19 National prankster uses classifieds

A classified ad posted by a stay-at-home dad in Los Angeles saying he found H.G. Wells’ infamous time machine in Helena appeared in Saturday’s paper to the amusement of people as far away as Europe.

Icon19 Lost and found ad a Chitty Chitty Bust Bust

If you read a recent lost and found ad in the Press-Citizen that seemed a little...unbelieveable...it was.

In Friday's edition of the paper, a classified ad stated that the original car used in the 1968 film “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” was found near the Coralville Reservoir. The ad certainly generated interest, but alas, it was a hoax.

Icon106 News Leader bites on Dolly Parton hoax

OK, so Dolly Parton didn’t really leave a pair of rhinestone studded boots in Staunton. Ditto for other personal belongings and a copy of her album “Coat of Many Colors.”

But that didn’t deter callers from contacting the man who placed the classified ad in The News Leader that touted finding Parton’s stuff inside an abandoned building in Staunton.

Dog L.A. prankster sneaks hoax ad into Daily News

Eagle-eyed readers of the Palo Alto Daily News may have spotted the following ad in the classifieds section: "Found: Tom Cruise's Lhasa Apso & heart-shaped bed."

Alas, the megawatt movie star and Scientologist had not misplaced any pets or furniture in Palo Alto.

Hmmm... I tried hard to find anything interesting in this guy's "art" but can't. Maybe I'm missing something.

That pun wasn't intended
