Animal Rights Group Erects Headstone Near Col. Sanders' Grave

At first glance, the tombstone looks like any other grave marker. But a closer look at the epitaph reveals a deeper meaning.

A seemingly innocuous poem is inscribed on the headstone, but, when read vertically, the first letter of each line spells out "KFC Tortures Birds."

Really though, what a pointless and over-the-top, not to mention disrespectful, way to try to make a statement.

I don't know, compared to some of the things I've read about other stunts PETA has done, this one is quite subtle.

Torture at the hands of many different companies,
All of whom show a distinct lack of morality by
Killing defenseless domesticated animals.
I wish there were more organizations out there
Like PETA so that I would no longer have to worry about the welfare of
Loveable bunnies, kittens, puppies, and even
Slimy, ugly animals like frogs. 'Cause despite their grossness,
All animals have a right to enjoy a life free of malicious harm.
Now the decision is in your hands. Will you fight the good fight as
I am and dedicate your life to making sure the world understands the
Moral imperative to defend all animals? I know that if the
Animals could talk, they'd all take the opportunity to thank you for not
Leaving them to suffer amongst the labs, farms, and factories of the world.
So let us rise up against these cruel institutions and make a difference.
