Icon81 Sickness inducing video

Found this through List Universe. Sickness Inducing Video. I tried it and although I didn't get sick it made feel very uncomfortable and I nearly walked away from my computer before it ended. Anyone know what this is or where it came from?

Before I watch it, I'm curious to what it actually depicts, or supposedly depicts.

It's a guy in a mask making weird expressions with some cutaway shots to some weird images with very low Hz sounds of people talking unintelligibly. Apparently, the low frequency sound is supposed to do something to you. I watched it with headphones as directed, and it didn't do much for me.

It might make you feel uncomfortable but I don't really see how it could make you sick.

There is nothing obscene or gross contained in the video. It's basically just a guy in a devil mask in front of a weird, color shifting background. The soundtrack is garbled and contains shifting audio frequencies, listening to it with headphones is an important part of the supposed effect.

Edit: In the List Verse comment section on the video, http://listverse.com/bizarre/another-10-bizarre-videos/ , someone claims the video actually worked.

Sounds like a news feed. I heard something about passing the Patriot Act and "The war on terror is announced" at around 1:05

I can hear it as well, it says something like "American civil liberties are in danger following near unanimous passage of the Patriot Act."

This girl was watching it, and about halfway through whispered "Miranda" and proceeded to beat the living daylights out of everybody in the room before her brother carried her off.

I was a bit nervous because I'm so aware of screamer vids. What were those other images? Deformed people? I'm kind of creeped out, actually. Not nauseous, just...creeped.

Having now watched it, I wonder if it's like those Flash animations that will induce seizures in a few people but don't do anything to most people. It didn't bother me, personally.

Didn't make me sick or anything (but I did not watch it in a dark room), although the distorted sounds and weird imaging reminds me of "nightmares" from horror movies. In fact, this may very well trigger a weird dream for me.

The sound didn't do anything to me, but I did find some of the images a bit unnerving... Anyway, I think it sounded like it was using binaural beats, so listening to it with headphones could mess you up a bit since your brain couldn't locate the source of the sound as it should.

I think you're right, and the unsettling aspect of the video is definitely in the auto track.

I guess I want to know what the point of that video is. And why does the guy keep touching his face like that?

My initial reaction was simply saying the word "eww" aloud. I COULD NOT. even watch more than 3 seconds. As soon as I saw that image of the masked guy [Which wasn't even scary, it just really hurt my eyes with the bright color] I was turned off.

And the frequency of that audio made my back all tingly and weird feeling. It's not scary just an annoying little gimmick. I dunno. Not impressive. That audio just creates a physical/natural reaction that makes you feel strange, that's kind of a cheap shot at scaring someone.

Alrighty then. I know I heard civil liberties. Other than that it was a blur.

I'm curious about another video on your link. Anybody got any ideas about the animation with the children and Satan? It seems pretty obvious to me that it wasn't intended for children. Brilliant little film, anyway.

I think the animated video with the children and Satan is this:

The segment is based on a version of his short story "The Mysterious Stranger".

I think.
