Default Big Dogs

I don't know much about dogs, I've seen dogs that I would consider very big, but these are huge. I'm sure there must be some trickery in one or two of the photos. The forth one down, and the one with the man walking a dog as big as a horse.
Big Dogs.

I think a few of those have been talked about around here before, but I'll let someone who knows more shed light on that...

I know the horse and big dog were discussed and I think that was considered faked.

I love the Great Dane and Chihuahua picture.

There are three with irish wolf hounds in the middle. I am pretty sure at least the first one is real. IWH is one of the largest dog breeds in the world, and I have heard more than once they are the largest.

But yeah, a few near the bottom have definitely been talked about before and are fake.

First one looks like a Leonberger cross. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leonberger)

Pic 3 is just a Great Dane.

White dog after the IWH's is just a Great Pyranees.

And a bunch of Mastif's.

Some of these just look bigger because of perspective. In a couple the person is sitting down next to them which makes the dog look bigger. We also have no idea how tall the person is so instead of a huge dog, it may be a big dog and a small person. I used to know someone who was 4'11'' and sitting her next to some of these dogs would make them look like they could swallow her whole.

I agree with the above statements that some are real and some are fake. My exbf's dad raised neopolitan mastiffs and they averaged about 200 lbs. I was afraid of the sheer size of them and of course the slobers. Also the thought of cleaning up their poo frightens me.

Actually, I'm positive that the first one (ETA: and the 4th one) is a Tibetan Mastiff.

ETA: The fourth one looks to me like the dog is large, and appears even larger because it is closer to the camera than the woman. She's kneeling, but I think her legs are foreshortened because she's sitting back on her heels, but it gives the illusion that she is just upright on her knees. (If that makes any sense). So, possibly not a manipulated picture, but deceptively photographed.

Dog

The first looks at the very least like the angle was picked to exaggerate the size of the dog. Two, three, and four all look real. Three is a bit deceptive because that's a child and not an adult, but Great Danes are most certainly that big. All the Wolfhound ones are real. I'm 5'7" and they still come up to my ribcage. The dog and horse one is the only one I think is faked.
